Cultivating the Inner World

Words and the power of language, communicative aspects of initiating change; to name a thing is to lay claim over it. Magicians and shamans of yore hid their true names believing that their unveiling would be a disaster to their power base. ‘knowledge is power’, as also language and communication an alternative to violence and the process of thinking as a series of logical introspections; argumentative emotional upheavals between the head and the heart and the absolute albeit convoluted language of communication all go to make up the theoretical superiority of the human mind and its ability to juxtapose, understand therefore mature and grow.

Communication both verbal and otherwise actually sets about reinforcing those thought processes that already exist within the subconscious human psyche and constructive criticism becomes a subtle means of generating minute alterations in the pan humanistic evolution towards an all encompassing gaian sympathetically vibrant organism in synchronization with all possible minutae of living matter each geared to a sensitive pitch of interweaving homogeneity culminating in the ultimate levels of an environmentally sustainable ecological balance.

A final commingling of yin and yang or the apogee and perigee of evolution and therefore the necessary cycle of destruction, a phoenixly cryptic circle of eternity.

Embroider away the weaving rivulets on the carpeted surface of organism earth, delving into the nuances and peculiarites of plants, insects, animals, birds, trees, rocks , moss and lichens, oceans, the winds and clouds in the sky and the microcosmic world of creatures dwelling within the human body and therein lies the interconnectedness of all things. Such insights into the living and working of all organisms open up endless streams of thought.

See the case of any symbiotic relationship in nature and how each one presupposes the existence of the other for its survival. Or a basic case of a relationship between a plant and an insect

Take a flower, the Fox Glove for example inside each flower grow protective hair to prevent random insects from rupturing the honey sacs, but the bee has the strength and size to push these impediments and exactly fit the flower, hung downwards, affording protection from enemies above and trapping warm air rising within. It is almost as if the innate consciousness of the plant has pre supposed the existence of the bee in its evolution. As in the case of certain night flowers, which only open out and give a lusty scent at night, which presuppose a knowledge of those insects that only fly in the dark and can therefore partake in the relationship. Certain trees which have no means of transferring their seeds elsewhere have a connection with some birds which eat the berries or fruit they produce- for though the outer pith provides the bird with the food, the seeds lie encased within a protective sac which flows through the birds digestive system to be excreted elsewhere.

Thus everything is connected, interpenetrating, bound in an oneness of purposeful being which is unity manifest, be it a pastoral scene,a seascape, a pointillist night sky or an urban sprawl. For a landscape or living space to be green and productive each blade of grass and leaf has to be green and growing in itself. Equally for a society to blossom and be fruitful, each and every individual member of that society must be alive and growing. Those who are not cultivating their inner world generate dead wood. Dead wood breeds parasites and parasites breed futility. Without green and growing individuals, society is nothing but deadwood. There is no such ting as the State, what exists is in the individual. The single mind, you! If you are not generative from the well spring of your being then you are not creating the world you would live in.
